Tharaka Technical Training Institute is a public institution established and registered under the TVET Act (cap 17, laws of Kenya). The Institute is one of the TVET institutions charged with the mandate of training middle level technical and vocational labor force. Its mandated to fulfill the vision of TVET that is “to provide a competitive market driven TVET system delivering competent workforce for sustainable development.”

Featured Hitory

Tharaka Technical and Vocational College is situated in Tharaka South Sub County in Tharaka nithi County, approximately 5 kilometers from Marimanti Town and approximately 2.5 kilometers from Gatunga Town in the Eastern region of Kenya and approximately 235 kilometers northeast of Nairobi. Tharaka Technical and Vocational College was constructed between 2013 and 2017 by the government of Kenya and registered by Technical, Vocational Education and Training Authority(TVETA) under TVET Act (Cap 17, Laws of Kenya). The core mandate is to provide training to the large number of young people who graduate annually from the secondary and primary school system. This in the realization that producing a properly and effectively trained, disciplined and patriotic youth can make a positive contribution to the development of the nation in line with Kenya Vision 2030 The college opened its doors for the first batch of trainees in September 5th , 2017.
